LID BLOWING OFF PANDORA'S BOX OF GOP FRAUD

ROVE IS NOT OFF OF THE HOOK. IN FACT, NOVAK'S TESTIMONY IS NOT LIKELY TO HOLD OFF THE INDICTMENT. Fitzgerald is suspicious that Rove withheld evidence. Anyone have any doubts in that regard? LS

FITZGERALD SUSPICIOUS ROVE WITHHELD EVIDENCE

ANOTHER BUSH STAR PLAYER, DELAY, MAY BE IN EVEN HOTTER WATER. PROSECUTOR SUBPOENAS RECORDS FROM THE DEFENSE CONTRACTORS IN THE CUNNINGHAM SCANDAL.

Naturally DeLay and his attorney say they are not worried. Earle, they insist, can subpoena all he wants because there is nothing to find. Sure there isn't. Perhaps DeLay's attorney will find himself as perplexed and surprised as Rove's.

CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST DIEBOLD

This piece on Enron II was found on the Brad Blog. Notice the phrase in the excerpt "....ongoing problems with Diebold's Voting Machine equipment and software." Again, this is the company whose CEO promised to deliver the election to Bush.

Class Action Suit Alleges Fraud, Insider Trading, Manipulation of Stock Prices, Concealment of Known Flaws in Voting Machines and Company Structural Problems

Excerpt:

The suit was filed today in U.S. Federal District Court in Ohio and alleges the company "artificially inflated" stock prices through misleading public information designed to conceal the true nature of Diebold's financial and legal situation. The defendants are also alleged to have attempted to disguise well-known and ongoing problems with Diebold's Voting Machine equipment and software. Additionally, the suit alleges insider trading by defendants resulting in proceeds of $2.7 million. Remedies are sought under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.

(My oh my. Our courts will be overwhelmed with cases on corrupted GOP officials and businessmen for decades to come. Burn, babies, burn. LS)

SO-CALLED "LIBERAL" BLOGGER MAY BE IN HOT WATER AT THE WASHINGTON POST

Dan Froomkin, a blogger for the Washington Post on line edition, is considered too liberal and opinionated by one of the Post’s editors and some of its political reporters. The fear is Froomkin's role is being confused with that of the political reporters who report "news." Froomkin is not a "reporter" per se but a "blogger" who writes in the opinion section of the Post's on line edition.

The editor’s comments have caused quite a stir on Froomkin's blog. I saw the blog today for the first time and love it. Froomkin gives his readers an anthology of the day's political events. He believes it is imperative for journalists to hold the President and the Administration accountable, all Presidents, all Administrations. Imagine that! Froomkin said he would ask the same questions of Kerry as he does of Bush. Naturally some of the Washington Post stenographers have a problem with “accountability” where the Bush Administration is concerned. Some must also feel threatened by the growing popularity of the interactive blogs and on line editions of newspapers. Check out Froomkin. His White House Briefing is located immediately below. His reaction to the editor's and reporter's criticism is located directly underneath. LS
