Tonight I am posting articles that reveal more on Bungle's bungling. The pieces are posted to reaffirm the conviction held by so many of we progressives that the "election" of Bush in both 2000 and 2004 would spell an unmitigated disaster for the U.S.
And indeed it has.
Though the Bush debacle is becoming a well-known fact both nation and worldwide, I take no joy or comfort in any feeling of revenge or smugness. I very simply wish that 50% of U.S. voters would have engaged their brains and utilized their critical thinking skills before voting for the likes of Bush and Cheney. It is frightening to me that so many voters bought into Bush/Cheney fabrication, spin, fear mongering, mendacity and propaganda.
Shame, shame on them. And shame on us, as a nation, for failing to better educate our people. We are dumbing ourselves down to the lowest levels possible. News is now entertainment. We should have a problem with that. But we apparently do not. We seem to be unaware of the corporate culture that has crept the fabric of our society: our government, our educational institutions and our news media. It is all bottom line driven and all about the money - the Bush/Cheney imperative. LS

Maureen is a hoot. She is most certainly a gifted writer. Her use of irony is both hilarious and hard hitting.

COLLEGE STUDENTS FACE EXPULSION FOR ANTI-BUSH ORGANIZING
Another piece from the wonderful Truthout.org
Excerpt:
About 30 minutes into their distribution effort, which Ray notes was peaceful, campus police officers showed up, saying that administrators viewed the activity as violating university policy. Officers took down student identification information from 7 of the approximately 20 organizers. Students also say the officers shot video footage.
Ray and six of his peers have since received letters from the administration inviting them to expulsion hearings that state: "Specifically, you were observed posting unauthorized materials, which advocated student participation in a protest activity that had not been registered or approved. Some of the materials advocated actions considered to be a disruption of the academic activities of Hampton University (specifically 'Nov. 2 student walkout; no school.')."

OF COURSE THE PENTAGON IS PAYING IRAQI JOURNALISTS TO PLANT FAVORABLE STORIES IN IRAQ
Well, hells bells. The bush dream team pays for propaganda here at home. Should we be appalled they are doing so abroad?
