MIRED IN BUSH INC. IDEOLOGY

I honestly tried, very sincerely tonight, to listen to the MSM on TV while preparing dinner for my family. I channel surfed from CNN to MSNBC to FOX News. It was all about hurricanes and hurricane rehashing on CNN, though MSNBC did an excellent job of covering the McClellan interview concerning Rove, and naturally, FOX did what it always does, - O'Reilly agitated and screamed about criminals not having been brought to justice. Of course this scenario leads up to a high-pitched diatribe about the appointment of judges. Pure propaganda, what else.... yawn......When you are on to them, they are almost comical, yet they- the nutty ring wing of the conservatives - are at the same time, very dangerous. Think about the fearful and uninformed listening to their sales pitch of terror. It should give us pause. Profound pause indeed.

On to the news found this evening:

A great piece by Frank Rich of the NYT on Watergate. Mr. Rich asserts that the political and social climates we live in now are far more politically (pathologically?) charged than they were in the Watergate era. This is very troubling to me because I believed that the Watergate era was one of our worse social/political periods in history. Not so, it seems.....

Compared to the Bush W years, Watergate was smooth sailing, in my opinion. At the very least, the press in the 70's stayed on top of and demanded accountability from the administration's propaganda machinery.

WE'RE NOT IN WATERGATE ANYMORE

THE PRESS FINALLY GETS IT?

I am acutely aware that I have been highly critical of our press and MSM, but according to a piece on Raw Story.com, the press actually grilled Scott McClellan today on Karl Rove's involvement with the outing of Valerie Plame. Mon Dieu! They were tough. It is about time, guys. We have a Democracy to preserve here, after all. Stay tough and hard. And please, for God's sake, don't cave in......

PRESS GRILLS MCCLELLAN ON ROVE

DNC GOES AFTER ROVE

Yes, like the press, the DNC needs to get hard, tough, and unforgiving, as the neo-con voyeurs were of Clinton's having had lied about an affair. (Oh you wish it could be so for you, you repressed and self-righteous hypocrites, but then, there is Gannon, or whatever his name is, who had access to whom in the WH I wonder?) Fact of the matter is, we liberals don't care about sex - that's personal. We do care, however and very passionately, indeed, about our ethical and political integrity. Neocons get an F- in that area.

I should like to remind you that when CLINTON LIED NO ONE DIED.

Rove became so consumed with power and arrogance that I suppose he thought he could do whatever he wanted whenever. As typical of those obsessed with dominance, they usually screw up along the line. It will be interesting to see how Rove and the White House tries to worm their way out of this one.

Excerpt:

"If left unpunished, this cowardly act will not only hinder our efforts to recruit qualified individuals into the clandestine service, but it will have a far-reaching, deleterious effect on our ability to recruit foreign intelligence assets overseas."

THE NASHUA ADVOCATE SHUTS DOWN FOR NOW

I love this site. Their in-depth analysis, intelligent, well researched and thought provoking pieces are uplifting in an era of dumbed down and entertainment type news. The Nashua Advocate received recognition from Goggle News and was mentioned in their directory, thus enabling the NA to function as a search engine for thousands of news seekers. It is most unfortunate that they must close, even temporarily. The founder, Seth Abramson, will maintain a personal blog. You can find it at:
