I received a comment the other day from a person who took issue with my postings on Karl Rove's outing of a CIA undercover officer. The young man or lady insists that Rove is right and ÃÂ?ClownÃÂ? Wilson is wrong, specifically because Wilson had lied about who had sent him to Niger. The comment may have a valid point in this regard. Perhaps Wilson was not altogether as forthcoming as he could have been when he allegedly said that Cheney or Rumsfeld had asked him to go to Niger. And, though I agree that Wilson may have stretched the truth, the fact of the matter is, Mr. Rove has broken a federal law by disclosing the name of a CIA operative. Mr. Rove and the GOP can spin it anyway they want, but the simple fact of the matter is, Rove flaunted the law and the disclosure act that he signed upon taking office with Bush.
Case closed. We are a nation based upon law. No one is above the law, including the President of the United States or his aides or appointees. My dear young reader, a former President of the United States was impeached for lying about an extra-marital affair that had nothing to do with our national security or global integrity.
Another President had to resign, rather than face impeachment, for lying about a break-in of the other partyÃÂ?s headquarters. Do a Goggle search on Watergate and you will understand all.
We used to be perceived as the beacon of hope and light in the darkness of oppression. Immigrants fled here from everywhere. They still do. And yet, the world no longer distinguishes us as they once did because of our recent policies.
Please do not allow yourself to be manipulated by the Bush mendacious spin that assaults you on a daily basis. Their neo-conservative policy is based upon personal greed, global domination, endless wars, at our expense, thank you very much (I mean, does the Bush family, their supporters or children enlist in the military? I donÃÂ?t think so.)
You must understand that the Neo-Conservatives tell you what you want to hear or they scare you into believing what they want you to believe.
Sadly, neocons and their henchmen have little, if no regard for we, the little people, the average Jane and Joes of this great country of ours. Trust me. They do not. LS
Moving on to the NEWS.

ON JUDITH MILLER
Wonderful piece written about Judith Miller on Tom Paine.com.
I must admit that I have had a problem with Judith Miller in the past, though I feel badly for her personally that she has been jailed. In my view, Miller has been a quite active supporter of the Bush Administration's false assertions about WMD in Iraq. As the author suggests, Miller has been a willing party in spinning the government's misinformation. LS
