I don't need to comment on this. I am sure you get it. If confused, check out Lou Dobbs on CNN today. LS
THE COST OF BUSH/GOP CORRUPTION, INCOMPETENCE AND THEIR DISMANTLING OF DEMOCRACY IS BOTH APPALLING AND CHILLING.
ON DISMANTLING DEMOCRACY
Let us eat mangos.
Sarah sent this chilling piece today from an interview with Amy Goodman on DEMOCRACY NOW.ORG LS

VA NURSE ACCUSED OF SEDITION FOR CRITICIZING BUSH
ON CORRUPTION
SCAMMING THE NATION'S ELDERLY
The two articles were found on Raw Story.com
Conservative "non profit" think tank group, probably created to be nothing more than a mere holding place for hoarded money, shamelessly used scare mail tactics to frighten and intimidate our nation's elderly. Letters to seniors insisted the Social Security Program was about to go bust immediately. Seniors were urged to donate as soon as possible to save the program and, of course, themselves. They were apparently terrorized to the point that our senior citizens actually made donations to the thief tank.
Wonder what the donations were used for? Naturally the "think tank" is linked to Abramoff. And it is unsurprising to learn that the extracted funds from those on fixed incomes found their way into one of Abramoff's pots of gold. This particular pot sent DeLay, his wife and his staff on globe trotting missions. Activities included spending nights in posh country club type resorts, meals with highly placed officials and lots and lots of golf. If/when accused of this despicable act, I am sure DeLay will default to the GOP disinformation machinery by grand standing on how his missions abroad raised the much needed funding to "save the system."
Have they no shame? Have they no decency? One would think this type of human low life exists in the realm of rip off artists, Mafioso thugs, drug dealers and criminals, certainly not among those who exercise so much influence and control on our federal government. LS
GOP THINK TANK SCAMS OUR NATION'S ELDERLY WITH FRIGHT MAIL
CONSERVATIVE THINK TANK IS FURIOUS AT RAW STORY FOR REVEALING ITS DESPICABLE DEAL
The conservative thief tank, I mean think tank, was apparently furious at Raw Story for publishing its fright letters to senior citizens and now accuses Raw Story of violating copyright laws.
I wonder if mangos will become a common menu item in our nation's federal prisons. LS
CONSERVATIVE THIEF TANK ACCUSES RAW STORY OF BREAKING COPYRIGHT LAW
ON LYING INCOMPETENCE
"I don't think anybody anticipated the breach of the levees." George W. Bush to Diane Sawyer on September 1, 2005.
I received this extraordinary piece from Ken today by Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post. LS
Bush is identical to those fathers of the church who used to destroy anyone who said, for instance, that disease was not caused by devils. Those bastards held back science in its earliest days by forcing Roger Bacon to give up his work. They forced Galileo to renounce what he knew to be perfectly true. Nowadays the descendents of these idiots, led by Bush, are harming our ability to progress scientifically by filling the next generation's minds with doubts about the validity of science.
Whether it's George W Bush or some medieval Pope, these guys maintain control by making you doubt what is in front of your eyes and 'have faith' in the imaginary.
The danger is obvious: when Bush imagines that we're doing everything to prepare for levee breaks and fires anyone who says we're not, the levees break anyway. We are prepared for nothing. And, as at all times, all manner of disaster is just around the corner. -K
Excerpts:
At least now I know why the White House is so obsessively secretive about its decision-making process. The leaked videotapes and transcripts of pre-Katrina briefings that were obtained this week by the Associated Press leave in tatters the defining myth of the Bush administration -- an undeserved aura of cool, unflinching competence and steely resolve. Instead, the tapes show bureaucratic inertia and a president for whom delegation seems to mean detachment.
The day after his claim about no one anticipating the failure of the levees, when the federal response was still a chaotic and ineffectual mess, Bush uttered the immortal line to his foundering FEMA director: "Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job." Did he really believe that?
A chief executive who isolates himself from bad news is one thing. A chief executive who hears bad news, in detail, and then plays it back as "heck of a job" is something else.
Oh, and health authorities agree that it's just a matter of time before the avian flu pandemic reaches U.S. shores. The administration says the government is prepared to provide all necessary help to local officials.
Be very afraid.
